Hilarious and poignant, David Dietl's feel-good new ensemble comedy follows the tensions, joys and changing bonds experienced by a close group of friends over three years, as they learn about love, their true selves and living life to the fullest.
When Ellen (Laura Tonke) attends her best friends' New Year's Eve party in 2019, she's keeping a secret: she's having an affair with someone within their friendship circle, the already-married Sebastian (Ronald Zehrfeld), whom she believes to be her great love. Meanwhile, there's a spark at the party between Rolf (Nicholas Ofczarek) and newcomer Dina (Pegah Ferydoni). There's friction between Mareike (Annette Frier) and her husband Adam (Trystan Pütter), as well as between Maya (Katia Fellin), who longs for children, and Natalie (Jasmin Shakeri) who can't make up her mind. Later that night, Ellen randomly encounters Max (Henning Flüsloh). He would love her if only she would let him...
Years pass, and milestones are celebrated as they come. There is love, laughter, and disagreements. Children are born, people find each other while others separate. Finally, fate serves as a reminder: Life must be lived intensely, with the best of friends and ideally in every single moment!
