OFFICIAL SELECTION - 2026 BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL

Featuring a revelatory lead performance from co-writer Marina Person in her first major role, the warm-hearted new drama from rising filmmaker Gabe Klinger (Porto) follows a creatively frustrated 50-something Brazilian woman who stubbornly pursues her dream in the face of self-doubt.

São Paulo, present day. Isabel (Marina Person), a sommelier in São Paulo’s fine-dining scene, dreams of escaping her controlling boss and opening her own wine bar where she decides what goes in the glass. Defying male bravado and a city devoted to beer and caipirinhas, Isabel takes a leap, opening Os Rejeitados (“The Rejects”), a neighbourhood venue dedicated to natural wine... what could possibly go wrong?

From the producers of I’m Still Here, ISABEL is a wry and understated love letter to São Paulo - and to the unruly pleasures of wine – offering a character‑rich celebration of resilience and the imperfect pursuit of happiness.
