On the eve of FALLEN LEAVES's release, breakout actress Alma Poysti discussed working with Aki Kaurismäki with The Age's Steph Bunbury: "The script's so clear. The lines are few, but there are descriptions. In the bar where Ansa is working, he writes that there's ‘this woman has been standing there for 30 years and she will probably stand there until she is in her grave’. Then you see the movie and yes, she is exactly that. The whole script's like that.”
